How I Helped a Client Streamline Their Email Marketing with Automation

Email marketing can feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. When one of my clients needed an effective way to follow up with new leads, I stepped in to create a fully automated email sequence that worked like clockwork in the background, nurturing these leads into potential customers.

The Problem

The client, a coach helping busy mums wanting to start their own businesses but lacking the direction or knowledge on how to get started when they simply didn’t have the time, wanted to offer a free printable planner to help their audience audit their time and identify problem areas and potential opportunities. However, they lacked the time and technical know-how to set up an automated system to follow up with leads after they downloaded the planner and often she would not have the time to look into and when she eventually got round to it the opportunity had passed. Without a structured follow-up, mums were missing out on valuable guidance, and the client was losing the opportunity to connect with these potential coaching clients.

The Solution

I collaborated with the client to discuss her ideal client journey and design an engaging email sequence tailored to their audience. We designed it to logically follow on from the issues that would normally be identified after doing the printable planner.

I built a a six-email automation in Mailchimp, delivering the printable planner, sharing actionable time management tips which would have been identified after completing the planner, and introducing the client’s coaching services as well as a lower cost monthly membership for group based support. Each email was concise and solution-focused, addressing common challenges busy mums face while starting a business.

The Outcome

The automated sequence increased engagement by delivering ongoing value to mums juggling hectic schedules and keeping my client at the forefront of their minds.

Over the first month, 45% of those who downloaded the planner opened all six emails, and 25% booked free discovery calls with the client where she could offer a free no obligation chat about her paid offerings. The client now has a seamless system to nurture leads and guide them toward starting their own businesses which runs seamlessly in the background to prevent losing warm leads.

Conclusion

We all know the time constraints that come from running a small business, particularly when you have other priorities to focus on like family. An email automation system ultimately saves you time, helps build relationships with potential clients and drive sales so you don’t have to remember to keep checking if you’ve had any new downloads. (or in my clients case – the panic when she received the notification someone new had downloaded something so she had to remember to follow up with them in a couple of days – which ultimately would often be forgotten.)

Are you ready to automate your email marketing and take some of the pressure off? Let me help you create a system that works for you and your business goals!
